A quick way to cook a classic.

  • 1 steak the size of the palm of your hand
  • 3 button mushrooms
  • 1 small clove of garlic
  • 1 tbsp. red wine
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1/2 tsp. corn flour mixed into
  • 1 tbsp. water
  1. Slice the mushrooms and garlic finely.
  2. Heat your pan to a medium heat.
  3. Pour half the oil onto a plate and mix in the salt and pepper then rub it into the steak.
  4. Place the steak in the pan.
  5. When the pink juice rises to the surface of the meat, turn it and wait for the juices to rise again. For a rare steak, wait for the slightest beading to appear. For a well done steak, wait until the juices pool on the surface.
  6. Now, remove the steak from the pan and cover it.
  7. Add the rest of the oil to the pan and fry the mushrooms and garlic for ten seconds.
  8. Pour the wine into the pan and simmer the mushrooms for two minutes.
  9. Pour in the corn flour mixture a little at a time, stirring until the sauce begins to thicken.
  10. Serve the steak with the mushroom sauce and steamed vegetables or salad.
